Counseling and care for those ready to grow in their spiritual, emotional, or mental health.

How We Serve

  • While, our counseling practices are not therapeutic in focus, we are both clinically and trauma informed in our focus. We value and utilize psychology, but we are not licensed, clinical therapists, and we will not provide diagnoses or a treatment plan.

Any experience you’ve had in that area is useful and will be integrated into our counseling and coaching approach. We will partner together to start where you are, reflect on where you’ve been and walk toward healing and sustainable transformation.

Capella Counseling is unique as we utilize a hybrid of methods including Biblical Counseling and Solutions-Focused Coaching utilizing Neuroscientific Principles for transformative change.

Typical counseling rhythms are 1 Hour sessions (50 minute sessions + 10 min of paperwork on our end) once a week or once every other week depending on the intensity of your current situation.

Intensive Sessions are available for urgent situations.

  • We are able to separate counseling methods to focus exclusively on coaching. We provide Life Coaching, Leadership Coaching, Group/Team Coaching, Team Building, Team Communication, and more.

  • Capella Consulting services are available for churches, organizations and businesses to provide organizational assistance, healthy workplace cultures, 360 Leadership Evaluations, strategy, and much more.

  • Half-Day or Full-Day Intensive sessions are also available, especially for those in full-time ministry or high-stress leadership positions.

We also provide Intensives within the context of corporate leadership or executive team environments.

  • Jason and other people in our network will be a great resource for any speaking opportunities you have. From Sunday Sermons to Business Keynotes, we would love to contribute to your event or gathering.

  • In some cases we will utilize behavioral assessments to be able to provide the highest level of care to you. Some of these assessments have a one time cost in addition to the session cost.

It is also common for us to recommend supplemental reading.

Common Challenges We Serve

(and more)

There are Common Challenges that people are facing every single day.

If you’re struggling, you are not alone, and there is HOPE for these situations. It is also possible that you’re facing something that is not common. There’s hope for you too. The most important thing is to BEGIN your journey of healing. We are here to help! Here are some of the challenges we see on a regular basis.

  • Many people engage in potentially addictive activities to escape discomfort — both physical and emotional. People typically engage in psychoactive experiences to feel good and to feel better. The roots of addiction reside in activities associated with sensation-seeking and self-medication. If you’re battling an addiction that is hurting yourself, or others, it’s a good time to get help.

  • Adoption and Foster Care families are on the frontlines of intense psychological and spiritual warfare. There are tremendous joys in adoption, but the challenges experienced are often unique and at times severe. We understand these challenges and provide Adoptive Families with a safe place to process and heal. Whether it’s a child who’s struggling or parents who are exhausted, we are always honored to partner together with Adoptive and Foster Care families.

  • Anger and/or rage are experienced by people all of the time. Anger is an emotion that comes from somewhere, and counseling can help you find the source that is causing your challenge. If you’re struggling with anger and/or range, you can move forward in a healthy way.

  • If you’ve found yourself in a place where one or several broken relationships are leading you to places of un-wellness, we’d love to give you space to process and heal.

  • Conflict is a normal part of life, but it can become a significant source of pain and frustration in relationships and/or teams. It can hinder success in many areas, but most importantly it can be resolved. We’re here to help you work through conflict.

  • Confusion is the inability to think as clearly or quickly as you normally do. You may feel disoriented and have difficulty paying attention, remembering, and making decisions. Confusion doesn’t have to control you.

  • Depressive thoughts and tendicies can become our reality for a lot of different reasons. Depression doesn’t have to be permanent, and it doesn’t have to be something that only medication can control. You can find healing from depression.

  • In our world, information has never been so readily available, and it seems the more we know, the more we can experience doubts which often give way to more severe challenges. Doubts are normal and can even be opportunities for growth. Counseling can give you tools to deal with doubts.

  • Fear is one of the most common challenges that people face. There are all kinds of fears experienced by all kinds of people. Fear often leads to anxiety, and anxiety can lead to panic, and panic can lead to dangerous physical symptoms. We believe there is a way forward from fear and freedom from anxiety.

  • Loss is a reality that everyone faces sooner or later. In some cases seasons of loss seem to multiply creating an ongoing experience of Grief. While grief isn’t fun, it can be healthy and transformative. If you are struggling through a season of Grief, we are here to help you to the next season of peace.

  • It is common in our world to have a hard time knowing who you are, whose you are, where you belong and why you’re here. We believe you are created on purpose, with purpose and for purpose. Counseling can help you find a healthy way forward.

  • We are created for community, which means we need safe people in our life to engage with. An absence of community can cause loneliness. Or in some cases, people feel lonely even in a crowd of friends. There are different types of loneliness we can struggle with, but together we can find a better reality.

  • Sometimes bad things happen, and sadness find us. Sometimes sadness is something we can become stuck in, but we believe that you can have joy on the other side of sadness.

  • It is possible for anyone to come to believe that they are the problem in the world. Low self-esteem, past trauma, or many of the other challenges listed here can lead someone to think they deserve to not be happy, or worse, they deserve to experience pain. We believe that is not what you deserve, and that you can find a vision that speaks a better word than self-condemnation or the desire to harm yourself.

  • Do you ever feel like you’re living the same day over and over and that you’ve been living in a season without vision? We don’t have to be victims of monotony. We don’t have to stay stuck. Sometimes we need counseling or coaching to help us see a better way forward.

  • If you or someone you know is thinking of committing suicide, please call 988 immediately. It is not uncommon to get so low that you can’t see a way forward, but there is hope that you might not be able to see. If you have found this when you are extremely vulnerable, call the number now.

If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts and/or have experienced suicidal tendencies but are not at a critical stage, counseling or coaching is great opportunity to find a new way of thinking if you want.

  • Trauma is described as the emotional or psychological response to a deeply distressing experience or situation. It typically creates a sense of fear that does not have to but can have lasting effects on well-being - especially in healthy relationships.

Most people suffer from different types of trauma. Sources of trauma can include abuse, injury, assault, poverty, adoption, abandonment, discrimination, disastrous situations, military service, violence, and much more.

If everything seems harder than it has to be, it is possible that past trauma has become a significant challenge for you. We are here for it and here to help..

We are here to serve you!
